State Street has a presence in Krakow, Poland since November, 2007. Our primary business is focused on Fund Accounting, Hedge Fund Accounting, Pricing Administration, Derivative Administration and Financial Reporting. Today State Street has over 1050 employees at multiple sites in Krakow.

At the moment we are looking for candidates for the position of

Accountant – Internal Finance

to join the Finance & Accounting insource organization supporting the State Street EMEA

Purpose of the Position:

Ensuring the correctness and reliability of the Company’s accounting records through   oversight over appropriate assignment of all business transactions to the relevant ledger accounts, in accordance with the provisions of the tax legislation, the accounting act, and internal procedures (corporate accounting policy)

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Posting of external accounting documents (invoices, notes, bank statements etc.)
  • Preparing and posting of internal accounting documents (internal invoices, journal entries etc.)
  • Tax qualification (VAT and CIT) of business transactions – in cooperation with the Tax Specialist
  • Preparing GUS and NBP reports
  • Assistance in the preparation corporate reporting for the purpose of US regulations
  • Verification of the documents from the tax and accounting perspective
  • Participation in the preparation of VAT return
  • Participation in the preparation of annual CIT return

 

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in accounting, finance or economics
  • Min. 2-3  years of professional experience in Accounting under Polish GAAP
  • Knowledge of Polish tax law, especially VAT and CIT
  • Good command of English (written and verbal)
  • Very strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of SUN system will be an asset
  • Ability to work under time pressure
  • Strong communication skills
  • Pro-active, with initiative, reliable
