Job Description

Change Manager ensures that standardized methods and procedures (ITIL v3) are used for efficient and prompt handling of all changes, in order to minimize the impact of Change-related incidents upon service quality and consequently identifies opportunities to improve the day-to-day operations of the organization.


The range of activities and tasks to be undertaken by a Change Manager include:

  • Co-ordinate and manage all Major or High Risk/severity changes, ensuring that appropriate planning has taken place, incorporating testing, implementation, back-out plans, communication etc. This will involve scheduling and managing planning meetings with the appropriate technical resources and Service Managers.  
  • Create and maintain Forward Schedule of Changes where appropriate, provide support in identifying and scheduling changes in advance so that appropriate planning can be performed and potential conflict avoided.
  • Ensure that all appropriate communication and awareness is performed in advance of Major or High risk/severity Change implementation. This should include customer communication via Service Management or/and with the customer if needed, ensuring that any necessary service outages are arranged, and agreed by the appropriate parties.
  • Maintain close liaison with support teams and senior managers over the introduction of major/high risk/severity changes.
  • Ensure correct levels of approval are obtained before allowing the implementation of any changes.
  • Ensure that all failed changes have got RCA performed.
  • Chair CABs, produce documentation, change reports and ensure all necessary RFCs are discussed.
  • Build awareness of a Change Control Process across engaged parties and act as a Change Management Process Expert.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to speak English/German/French/Dutch B2+ (desirable English as the second foreign language on the B2 level at least).
  • University degree in IT Discipline or equivalent in years of progressive experience in enterprise level IT environments.
  • Minimum a year of Change Mgmt or Project Mgmt experience.
  • Working knowledge of Change Management frameworks such as ITIL v3, TQM or ISO 9000:2000 (certification not required, but is a plus).
  • Proven communication skills with multiple levels of an organization, including interaction with senior level business partners within the company.
  • Strong influencing and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent ability to manage multiple high priority efforts/ competing priorities and flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities.
  • Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.
  • High level of IT literacy – MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
