We are an online business that brings together employers and job seekers. We run a number of job boards in several European countries. The goal is always to enable perfect matches – help companies find just the right employees, and present candidates just the offers they are looking for. All the software that runs our websites is developed in-house.

Java/Perl Developer

The position

You will be working on the one of our boards – the software used by candidates to find a jobs on various jobboards around the Europe. You will be responsible for crawling and scraping part used to deliver data to our systems.

Our crawling software is written in Perl and in Java, with the trend to go for Java. Ideal person will have a solid knowledge in both languages. 

We are looking for the person that always look forward and have an intrnal "drive" to make things happen. You will lead an autonomous team with business ownership outside of our country. You have to be proactive, target oriented and have a strong personal opinion and ability to work with remote teams.

Your duties

  • Turn business requirements into a working product – design, code and refine your solutions
  • Take responsibility for migration of setups between service platforms
  • Write clean, scalable, easy to read and maintain code
  • Work in sync with other team members; share knowledge, suggestions
  • Define and keep your deadlines
  • Coordinate work with other teams to make things happen (Testers, Webdesigners, Product managment)

Our requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of proven and solid experience in Java development
  • Very good knowledge of following techniques related to web development
    • Java SE
    • HTML/CSS/Javascript
    • XML/XSLT
    • SQL (Mysql/MSSQL)
    • Perl knowledge desirable
    • Crawling/Scraping techniques
    • Scaling high load sites
  • Very good command of English
  • Good command of German
