Mentor Graphics, leader in Electronic Design Automation (EDA), is establishing a regional finance and accounting support centre in Katowice.  This centre will support 30 Mentor Graphics entities located in Europe, Russia, Armenia, Israel and offers excellent opportunities for individuals with a broad audit and/or general financial accounting background to further develop their skills in a dynamic, hi-tech and international environment. 

Applications are invited for the position of:

Regional Chief Accountant / Team Leader
– Western Europe
Miejsce pracy: Katowice

Responsible for providing day-to-day leadership and direction to a professional team of accountants and overseeing the management of financial accounting and associated responsibilities for multiple Mentor Graphics’ entities in the Western Europe region, the successful applicant will enjoy a varied and challenging role with  key responsibilities to include:

  • Supervision of a team responsible for general ledger accounting and financial reporting
  • Full responsibility over accounting, tax and statistical reporting for assigned region:
    • US GAAP accounting (quarterly and annual Group reporting)
    • Statutory accounting, reporting and audits
    • Tax compliance work
  • Ongoing relationship with head office and other corporate functions
  • Assisting in executing a migration project
  • Driving process improvement initiatives and monitoring KPIs
  • Recruitment and training of new team members
  • Responsibility for customer care and complex query resolution
  • Initial point of contact for external advisors
  • Identifying and resolving recurring performance problems and improvement opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Masters Degree required, with additional accounting qualifications preferred.
  • At least 5 years proven operational experience in accounting function, preferably within a multinational environment or Big 4 firm.
  • Deep understanding of Finance Management and GL processes.
  • US GAAP or IFRS and consolidated financial reporting experience required.
  • Strong operational management and leadership skills
  • Ability to create an environment for the enhancement of process knowledge
  • Ability to adapt to changing objectives and priorities
  • Strong communication, conflict resolution & project management skills
  • Ability to motivate team members
  • Previous transition experience will be considered an asset.
  • Strong PC /MS Office skills required (advanced Excel skills), with experience of SAP or similar ERP system preferred)
  • Fluent English required, additional languages an advantage.
  • Some travel may be required.
