Mentor Graphics, leader in Electronic Design Automation (EDA), is establishing a regional finance and accounting support centre in Katowice. This centre will support 30 Mentor Graphics entities located in Europe, Russia, Armenia, Israel and offers excellent opportunities for individuals with a broad audit and/or general financial accounting background to further develop their skills in a dynamic, hi-tech and international environment.

Regional Senior Accountant (General Ledger)

Responsible for independently managing financial accounting and associated responsibilities for assigned Mentor Graphics’ regional/multiple entities, successful candidates will enjoy a varied and complex role with key responsibilities to include:
- Responsibility over accounting, tax and statistical reporting, including:
- US GAAP accounting (quarterly and annual Group reporting)
- Statutory accounting, reporting and audits
- Performing month-end closing activities including accounts reconciliation
- Supporting migration of accounting processes from other countries
- Cooperation with auditors, tax advisors, accounting firms
- Responsibility regarding tax matters: VAT, CIT, Statistical Reporting
- Ensuring accurate and timely postings in general ledger including: fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, provisions
- Providing high quality service to internal and external customers
- Ensuring that transactions are carried out according to corporate policies and statutory regulations
- Assisting in preparation of new internal control documentation
- Testing new systems, policies and tools.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Accounting/Finance a minimum, with additional accounting qualifications considered an asset
- At least 3 years proven operational experience in accounting function.
- Experience in a multinational environment or Big 4 firm preferred
- US GAAP or IFRS experience required.
- Experience, or demonstrable interest, in the area of tax compliance.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, effective relationship-building ability
- Ability to work independently using own initiative, combined with the motivation to contribute in a dynamic international team environment
- Strong PC / MS Office skills required (advanced MS Excel), experience with SAP or similar ERP solution preferred.
- Fluent English is required – additional languages considered an advantage
- Some travel may be required
