Your responsibilities

Purpose of the role

The main purpose of the role is to act as an independent accounting expert ensuring the delivery of all compliance & financial reporting related projects. The role is to facilitate and support global Lundbeck and GBS Krakow strategic projects within accounting and reporting function. The aim to facilitate system implementations, transitions and migrations, driving to process optimization and standardization across the function.

Main responsibilities and tasks

Acting as SME in A2R project delivery (main scope):

• Coordination of Payroll process transformation project from Finance and Accounting perspective

• Acting as a subject matter expert for A2R related process, working across all entities within GBS scope, cooperating with GBS Teams, HQ and Local Finance,

• Playing a key role in delivering projects focused on standardization, efficiency and system implementation,

• Providing guidance and expertise in accounting, tax, finance, and compliance areas,

• Facilitating implementation of key projects across the function, safeguarding standardization,

• Proactively assisting A2R Management Team to identify any areas of improvement to help maximizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the processes, participating and leading the implementation of identified improvement initiatives,

• Preparing project and process documentation, managing stakeholders, reporting project progress,

Acting as back-up for Chief Accountants/Finance Controllers (if needed):

• Performing compliance & reporting tasks in line with defined processes and work instruction

• Executing Period-End tasks for assigned unit(s), performing reconciliation and clearing of accounts, reporting actuals in reporting systems on timely manner and meeting quality targets

• Providing support to Financial Controller in the assigned controlling tasks

• Performing Internal Controls defined for Compliance & Reporting

• Being responsible for maintaining process documentation

Our requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience

  • Strong GL accounting knowledge including IFRS knowledge

  • Proven records of improving GL/A2R/Payroll processes

  • Knowledge of SAP and MS Office

  • Experience with preparing financial statements under IFRS and/or local standards is an advance

  • Practical tax experience (indirect, direct taxes) is an advance

  • English at B2/C1 (another European language is welcome)

  • Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting

  • ACCA/CIMA is an advantage

  • Self-starter – performing assigned tasks without close supervision, identifies pro-actively areas for action

  • Dealing well with ambiguity & uncertainty and finds it easy to work in a very dynamic environment

  • Strong communication skills

  • Mature attitude towards challenges and problem solving - being able to work independently and able to determine information needed to resolve more complex issues, manage pressure effectively and cope well with setbacks

  • Taking ownership of assigned responsibilities, including self-development/research need to execute the same

  • Being able to work to tight deadlines and with switching priorities

  • Being curious and would like to understand how the thing work

  • Being structured in approach to analysis

  • Being proactive and creative in terms of improving ways of working
