Your responsibilities

  • Accurately and timely perform accounting entries (AP, Bank reconciliations, Fixed Assets, GL entries, Intercompany transactions)

  • Participate in Month End Close process and Balance Sheet reconciliations (including AP and AR accounts reconciliations, Intercompany account balancing)

  • Embrace accruals and prepayments accounting, bad debt checks and journal postings, AP aging reviews, intercompany and cross charge allocation accounting

  • Perform and/or verify bank transfers

  • Maintain records (Audit Files) and provide appropriate evidence in support of accounting entries

  • Provide information to internal and external auditors if and as requested

  • Assisting in preparation of statutory financial statements and consolidated financial statements

  • Support in preparation of tax reports under various tax jurisdictions.

  • Verify work of Junior Accountants

  • Assists with on boarding and training of new starters

  • Share best practices with other team members

  • Assists with training, and coaching other team members

  • Assists management with small projects or trainings if and as needed

  • May assist in ad hoc projects/reports as required

Our requirements

  • University Degree in Accounting or Finance, professional qualification completed or in progress would be a plus

  • Experience: 3-5 years in accounting and/or controlling, preferably in General Ledger accounting

  • Experience in working for a large multi-national company, with multi-currency accounting entries, intercompany transactions and advanced accounting policies

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics (D365) and Symfonia is a plus

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel (pivots, VLOOKUPs, graphs)

  • Good command of written and spoken English (B2)

  • Accuracy and diligence, attention to detail

  • Ability to work towards strict month end close routines and meet deadlines

  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage own time effectively

  • Strong analytical skills, ability to connect the dots to reach informed conclusions

  • Willingness to learn

  • Appreciation for cultural diversity and nuance

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management using diplomacy, tact and discretion

In order to succeed as an Accountant, you will need to:

  • Preferably have some experience in working in a global environment

  • Be fluent in English

  • Demonstrate experience in General Ledger accounting

  • Ability to work with large quantities of data and under strict deadlines

  • Be fluent with advanced Excel functions

  • Have experience with accounting systems and advanced accounting policies

  • Excellent organizational and numeracy skills as well as strong communication competence
