Your responsibilities

An exciting opportunity exists for a self-motivated, energetic and resourceful experienced Accounts Assistant to assist us in our rapidly expanding consultancy business.

The role is ideal for an enterprising person, responsible for all Sales Invoicing, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Payable transactions, Bank and Balance Sheet Reconciliations – for the Brickendon Group and one of its key clients – as well as assisting the Financial Controller in the monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts preparation.

The team is staffed with talented, experienced professionals and is in the process of expansion to meet the challenge of developing and expanding the business.

The successful candidate will join as an experienced Accountant and work as part of Brickendon’s internal team with. You will have the responsibility of:

Duties:

-Generating, coding and posting all sales invoices

-Reviewing sales order forms

-Bank reconciliations

-General ledger postings

-Balance sheet schedules and reconciliations

-Sales commission reports

-Maintaining sales and supplier ledgers

-Posting of sales invoices to factoring company (where applicable)

-Coding and posting of supplier invoices, credit card statements, employee expense claim forms and processing payments when due

-Submission of quarterly VAT returns

-Management of employee timesheet submission

-Assisting the Financial Controller in month end tasks and management account reporting

-Assisting the Financial Controller in year-end Financial Statement preparation

-The successful candidate will be self-confident and will take ownership of the role

-Liaise with Company financial controllers and lawyers

Our requirements

  • Two years of experience in Sales Invoicing, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Payable
  • Fluent English
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Education/certifications related would be a huge plus
  • Solid financial and management accounting skills
  • Balance sheet reconciliations, including deferred and accrued revenue, prepayments and accruals
  • Very strong Excel skills
  • Experience using XERO & SAGE 50 Accounts (nice to have)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organisational and timekeeping skills are essential
  • Honesty and Integrity
