Your responsibilities

ROLE PURPOSE: To implement financial procedures and policies of Save the Children Poland Response and be responsible for financial management, maintaining cash controls, maintaining accounts payable, processing of all office payments, input of financial data into the financial management system and document/information management.

Accounting:

• Input all data correctly and timeously onto financial management system.

• Administer, balance, and reconcile petty cash monthly.

• Filing of all financial documents and vouchers.

• Perform reconciliations of some balance sheet accounts monthly.

• Payments: responsible for ensuring that the payments are done accurately, timely and within budget.

• Ensure all payments are correctly coded, approved and support documents attached.

• Check all staff travel expenses and claims.

• Ensure sufficient funds in bank account to be able to make payments.

• Compliance: facilitates adherence to statutory requirements, i.e., social security and taxes by ensuring timely payments to the relevant authorities before deadlines

• Payroll: Timely and accurately payment of payroll

Cash flow management

• Prepare and submit forecasts and cash flow projections and ensure that management is aware of their implications.

• Ensuring that there are sufficient funds in the current account for payments.

• Draft monthly cash flow budgets

Other assignments

• Perform reconciliation of all bank and petty cash accounts

• Support to staff: ensure that staff understand financial policies and procedures including payment procedures and account coding.

• Provide training on coding and completion of forms when necessary.

• Attend Audit planning meetings.

• Prepare for audit, participate in meetings, and assist auditors by provide the requested for sampled documents.

• Petty Cash check: carry out periodic petty cash counts and check that payments are supported by documents.

The post holder may be required to carry out additional duties within reasonableness of their level of skills and experience.

Our requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting qualification and/or relevant experience in the field.

• Experience with management information systems and basic excel skills.

• Polish and English language is required.

• Self-motivated with good time management skills and ability to prioritize.

• Ability to operate in a changing environment: adaptable, flexible and supportive approach.

• Ability and willingness to work as part of a professional team.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including cultural sensitivity and assertiveness.

• Willingness to travel within Poland occasionally.
