A Day in the Life

 

The Regional Marketing Manager is responsible within his/her Specific Business Unit (SBU) for creating, planning and implementation of regional marketing strategies, including coordination of these activities in the countries of the region. He/she serves as a primary liaison between countries and SBU Global Marketing teams in the following areas: competitive pricing, product positioning, product portfolio, product phase-in and phase-out, and value add messaging. 

Key responsibilities of the role:
  • Leads development and execution of key marketing programs and plans. Manages projects and budgets associated with marketing activities in area of responsibility. Drives implementation of programs in partnership with local marketing and sales management and/or supports local organizations in development of local programs.
  • Provides analysis of competitive information and develops sales strategies.
  • Responsible for full marketing mix to ensure successful product launches. 
  • Collaborates with relevant internal departments to resolve issues, advances the marketing agenda, and ensures that marketing programs are executed as planned. 
  • Provides expert consultation on an ad hoc basis to representatives facing product marketing issues. 
  • Ensures effectiveness of product Value Add Messaging. 
  • Strategic and long-term product planning, in close collaboration with Country Business and Marketing Managers.
  • Defines and implements product/price positioning in line with the worldwide positioning strategy.
  • Works with SBU on setting R&D priorities, recommends product enhancements and/or developments to the product planning teams. If needed, creates business cases to support the strategy for the region.
  • Monitors and coordinates product phase-in and phase-out activities.
  • Provides PAA guidelines and supports to country business teams. 
  • Develops and executes local awareness programs to improve specific target education.
  • Facilitates country specific implementation of key market development strategies & tactics.
  • Builds and maintains relationship to local market development and sales force teams/distributors.
  • Identifies, evaluates and recommends market growth opportunities consistent with product line objectives 
  • Ensures alignment of education and clinical activities with the regional strategy.
  • Supports Academia SBU Regional Trainer in identifying the proctors and KOLs to accelerate market growth. 
  • Supports Regional Clinical Manager to with linkages to local KOLs and Therapy Centers. 
  • Contributes to the vision, strategy and annual goals and objectives of the business.
  • Involved in Strategic Plan and AOP Planning process.
  • Responsible for product demand planning accuracy.
  • Attends major medical meetings, sales meetings, and meets with customers and field representatives regularly to gather information, identifies needs and assesses opportunities to help drive marketing programs.
  • Develops the country marketing teams to be a skilled and a fully integrated function within the region.
Must haves and Nice to Haves:

Must haves:
  • Degree in Business, Health or Engineering Science
  • Min. 3 years of marketing experience, preferably in medical devices / pharma industry.
  • Relevant knowledge of social media management, digital marketing experience.
  • Strong written and verbal skills in English
  • Fluent local language 
  • Relationship building, high level communication / interpersonal skills
  • Result-oriented, customer-focused
  • Business acumen, strategic thinking
  • Analytical skills 
  • Strong ability to rapidly develop and implement marketing programs
  • Ability to work effectively in matrix environment
