About the project
IT Business Analyst role is based within Wholesale IT Payments and GLCM. The purpose of the role is to support delivery of projects for SEPA Low Value Payments, through high quality analysis and Agile design artefacts, effective stakeholder management and providing solution delivery team with deep business insight, all enabled by appropriate tools and aligned to Dev Ops working. The IT Business Analyst on GCB5 is expected to work independently, throughout the project lifecycle; from project initiation and inception through elaboration and construction, regularly handling multiple tasks and activities. This role offers the candidate the opportunity to gain a broad understanding of the Payments and Business landscape within SEPA area.
Your responsibilities
Defining the most appropriate analysis approach to a problem/opportunity and work within a multi skilled team to achieve the required goal
Eliciting, analyzing, validating, documenting and prioritization of business and / or system requirements
Understanding business requirements through regular interactions with the product owner, business users and other subject matter experts
Translation of business and system requirements into solution designs and functional requirements
Performing root cause analysis of failure elements & recommend improvements
Documenting the requirements under BRD documents or Jira user stories for the teams to work from
Negotiating and influencing project scope, including the assessment of proposed change
Working closely with solution delivery and production support team to ensure all new software is well understood and readily supported.
Our requirements
Past working experience in a relevant role, i.e. IT Business Analyst or Business Consultant
Ability to work with different business users such as product owners, project managers, developers, architects
Experienced in analysing business requirements and turning them into effective functional solutions
Excellent written and spoken communication skills (in English); an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
Highly analytical with excellent attention to deliver the high quality products
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to both lead and contribute within a team
Ability to learn fast and rapidly assimilate new ideas
Understanding and awareness of the key activities required for all phases of the project life-cycle
Knowledge of the project collaboration tools like Confluence and Jira
Being business orientated with a technical background
Optional
Knowledge and experience of one or more Agile frameworks such as Scrum and Kanban
Past working experience in Bank or any other Financial Institution (Payments systems – ideally Low Value – SEPA)
Familiarity with the Sepa Payments Regulations, i.e. EPC, Sepa Rulebooks
Role relevant qualifications and certification i.e. Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certified Foundation Level Business Analyst (IQBBA ) or similar is desirable but not essential
Knowledge of SQL in order to query the database and retrieve the relevant data
Past working experience in Bank or any other Financial Institution
