Job description:
- provide operational support and management of Unix IT Systems – IBM Power, OpenSCO, IBMi
- participate in problem-solving efforts and offer ideas to solve client issues
- work to SLA thresholds for incident(s), request(s) and problem(s)
- work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
- develop, improve and optimize the performance of Unix IT Systems in an enterprise environment
- work with a variety of business and technical teams to enhance service
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- deep knowledge of Unix IT Systems - IBM Power
- understanding of OpenSCO, IBMi 7R3 systems
- engineering skills and the ability to analyze the impact technology has on different IT components
- real-time troubleshooting, ability to apply problem-solving techniques
- continuous improvement attitude and proactive mindset
- Unix/System Engineer certification would be an advantage
- good communication skills in written and spoken English
