AR Expert Accountant with German

About the job

Purpose of Role:

Supports the respective Team Leaders and Senior Accountants. The role will perform Accounts Receivable transaction processing responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with defined operating procedures.

Key Activities:

  • Process customer credit and debit
  • Incoming payments application
  • Invoice supplier / concessionaire / others
  • Process accounts receivable
  • Settlement of later income
  • Achieve performance objectives agreed with assigned Team Leader
  • Perform other duties as required within AR area as agreed with the assigned team lead
  • Contribute to Accounts Receivable process improvement initiatives as required
  • Contributes to achievement of Accounts Receivable performance and quality standards as defined in relevant service level agreements.
  • Communication with team/ controller/ cash collection team in Germany
  • Communication/ reporting to managing director, Head of Accounting of Germany
  • Full responsibility of all AR tasks e.g. month /year end closing procedure, evaluation of balance confirmation; discuss with auditors/tax departments (before alignment with Head of Accounting /Team lead in Germany), full responsibility of every posting in AR-ledger; maintaining of accounts is self-evident
  • Be able to work independently and make partly own decisions under consideration of local / group GAAP as well as under consideration of group policies
  • Considering new legal requirements and if necessary implementation of changes (aligned with Head of Accounting /Team lead in Germany


Professional skills:

  • BSc in Economics or Business Administration with Major in accounting. Professional certification such as a CPA or a CIMA is required
  • Min 3-4 year experience in Accounts Receivable
  • Business English (oral and written skills) across finance organization
  • Fluent or sufficient communication skills (oral and written skills) in German
  • Experience working within Accounts Receivable process and good understanding of financial processes
  • SSC experience an advantage within a complex, large volume environment is required
  • Knowledge of German accounting treatment in resp. of AR
  • Knowledge of Tax requirements of Germany
  • Good working knowledge of SAP, Scanning and workflow technology is required
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Office (Excel) would be an advantage
