    AstraZeneca is a global, innovation-driven biopharmaceutical business that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialization of prescription medicines for some of the world's most serious diseases.

    As part of our ongoing growth of the HR team in Warsaw we are opening a new Associate HR Director role, supporting mainly the Research & Development (R&D) teams, which focus on development of new medicines as well as running global clinical trials.

    In this role you will provide comprehensive Human Resources Partnering service to the R&D organization, reporting to HR Director for Poland. You will have full responsibility for implementing company strategy relating to Human Resources throughout the organization and you will play a key role in the formulation of company policies and procedures.

    This role is designed as part of a succession plan for the HR Director role. Whilst focusing mainly on supporting the R&D organization there will be plenty of opportunities for overlap into the agenda of other business units, both scientific and business support.

    In this role you will:

    • Lead the people elements of change programmes and projects in the R&D organization, working with the business to develop and prioritize delivery of the company’s people strategy for the area.
    • Develop and maintain a strong trusted advisor relationship with the business. Work in partnership with the business to ensure that an environment of continued professional development is created and individual and team performance is managed effectively.
    • Participate in setting and executing against the strategic direction of the business area
    • Be responsible for managing multi-disciplinary projects, covering a number of areas, including recruitment, compensation and benefits, performance management, people management, employee relations and change management
    • Liaise with senior management to understand business requirements and tailor specific solutions
    • Liaise with business leaders and global HR Business Partners to gather accurate workforce planning information
    • Ensure that policy and process activity is effectively delivered, providing advice and support to the business on complex employee relations issues such as disciplinary and grievances.
    • Act as primary point of contact for HR policy issues
    • Coach, support, mentor and challenge managers in the application of HR policies and practices, provide advice and guidance on complex HR issues in order to minimize risk and financial exposure
    • Drive and support the development and delivery of cultural change plans and interventions

    You will ideally already have:

    • At least 5 years of experience in HR Business Partner role
    • Previous experience in managing senior stakeholders
    • Previous experience from a Research & Development environment is an advantage
    • Excellent communication and influencing skills
    • Experience of working in a multinational, matrix organisation
    • Ability to manage competing tasks efficiently and prioritize workload within a matrix environment
    • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
    • Experience with Workday is an advantage
    • Fluent English
