Compliance Policy and Regulatory Developments: Coordinating as appropriate the implementation of global standards and strategic policies which ensure designated entities exposure to current risks and emerging arising risk is managed appropriately. Support the process for Compliance policy implementation and work with Compliance Risk Stewards to oversee gap analysis and successful implementation.
Advisory: liaison with relevant stakeholders to provide expertise and support on entity related matters, including outsourcing, cloud and intra-group conflicts.
Entity Compliance project support:
supporting the implementation of Compliance programmes to quantify impacts and take actions to address,
manage and mitigate regulatory change impacts on designated teams within the entity;
providing timely updates to key stakeholders;
actively support in increasing awareness of Conduct Risk and embed the Group approach to Conduct Risk Management.
The role holder will also:
Be required to collaborate the wider Compliance team to oversee the co-ordination and execution of various Compliance change management work streams, while ensuring quality assurance and alignment with Global Standards
Be responsible for quality checking relevant management information for governance fora
Communication of output and messaging across the Region
Coordinating with equivalent counterparts to ensure a consistent, best practice and ‘joined-up’ approach to the oversight of the businesses
Assisting line management in the conduct of “crisis” management (e.g. ad hoc investigations into rule breaches).
Degree or equivalent professional qualification in law, economics, accountancy or similar field
Working experience as a compliance officer
Strong analytical skills and the ability to support decisions with sound reasoning and clearly articulated justifications
Good understanding of data sharing and outsourcing related risks and issues in banking
Strong collaboration, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to think laterally and solve problems
Understanding or experience working with corporate banking products and services
Working in a major financial institution, within a matrix environment, including reporting internationally
High level of professional and personal integrity
Proficiency in English language (written/spoken/formal)
Understanding of the purpose, value, culture and fundamentals of the Compliance function
Ability to work effectively under pressure with competing and rapidly changing priorities is essential
