Your responsibilities
- Be a part of our international, Global IT team.
- Support the overall day-to-day operational management and administration of backup, recovery and archiving solutions using Avamar and Data Domain. The key objective is to manage backup, recovery, and archiving environments effectively and efficiently.
- Administration of backup systems Avamar, Data Domain, DPA, Backup/Recovery architecture.
- Management of storage environments that includes VNX, Unity, NetApp and MD/ME.
- Process, Architecture and infrastructure improvement recommendations.
- Assistance with documentation of policies and procedures.
- Operational best practices documentation.
- Maintenance tasks and activities such as upgrades and patches.
- Reporting and troubleshooting.
- Researching technical Avamar/DD environment support information.
- Administration best practices.
- Operational Documentation unique to the specific environment that contains: Configuration, Operations Guide, Troubleshooting Guide.
- Product Support: Avamar Software, Avamar Data Store, Avamar with Data Protection Advisor (DPA), Data Domain, Network-based backups (NFS, CIFS, and BOOST), Tape-based backups (VTL, tape libraries, tape devices, scratch pool management), Multiple copies of backups, offsite copies, copy to tape, High-level DR concepts (replicated backups), Data Domain architecture, Data Domain internal support processes and teams, Data Domain troubleshooting.
Our requirements
- 3-5 years of experience administering EMC Avamar/Data Domain products.
- Proficiency in hardware, software, operating system environments (Window and Linux).
- Critical issue management skills.
- Understanding business and technical trends of vendors and the customer.
- Must possess a high degree of familiarity and demonstrated proficiency working with different Operating System environments.
- Proficient with Avamar and Data Domain system administration tasks.
- Fluent communication skills in English.
- College degree highly preferred.
