    Big Data Engineer CMB IT

    A successful candidate will be part of global projects from the Commercial Banking IT (CMB IT) business.

    The Team:

    The Data and Analytics IT team is part of the overall Commercial Banking (CMB) IT team under the remit of the CMB CIO. The team is responsible for partnering with various stakeholders within the CMB business Transformation and other lines of business and functions to provide robust, secure, leading edge technology solutions for data analytics that are scalable, provide competitive advantage to the business in a changing regulatory and competitive landscape across the world.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Taking part in the projects from the commercial banking area to deliver actionable business information
    • Implementing data transformations to expose data via modern BI tools in line with expected project targets and timelines
    • Working closely with various stakeholders located in different places in the world
    • Working closely with the Product Owner – accepting completed tasks and prioritizing planned work.
    • Helping with continuous improvement (making sure retrospective action points are implemented)
    • Building and maintaining good working relationship with all the team members

    What we are looking for:

    The right person for this job will be an enthusiastic collaborator who knows how to improve internal culture and can work closely with developers. You will be a perfect fit for the role if you meet the below requirements:

    • Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. High complexity, high data volumes, dynamic,
    • Experience with relevant development languages and frameworks like SQL, Java ,Python, Scala, Spark
    • Perform or support data quantitative and qualitative analysis,
    • Understanding of using relational and unrelational databases,
    • Participate in validating data, development, implementation, testing activities,
    • Understanding data modeling - keeping data in structured format, conceptual, logical and physical data modelling,
    • Experience in Agile/ DevOps environment and in assisting in production support.
    • Perform or have a knowledge about extracting, importing, and exporting of data - ETL (extract, transform, load),
    • Perform data analysis of key problem areas to assist in root cause analysis and data reconciliations to identify data anomalies,
    • Understanding of Big Data and Cloud technologies,
    • Familiarity with various operating systems: Linux/Unix, Windows,
    • Understanding of various data storage systems,
    • Understanding of Cloud environments,
    • Research and collect data to assist with product development and analysis,
