Your responsibilities
Insect and mammalian cell cultures preparation and maintenance: adherent and suspension cell cultures – monitoring and recording cell growth (viability, density, morphology), passaging/ subculturing, initiation of cell culture from frozen stocks, freezing cells
Execution of experiments for insect cell culture process development, including: performing transfections (with amplification and isolation of transfer plasmid DNA, determination of DNA concentration etc.), amplification of recombinant baculoviruses, generation of working virus banks and stocks, titration of recombinant virus by plaque assay or qPCR to determine correct multiplicity of infection
Optimization of the recombinant protein expression: examination of gene expression level (including, Western blotting), scale-up production
Providing starting material to senior team members for the purification of the recombinant protein
Maintaining laboratory records
Basic laboratory work including preparation of media, laboratory upkeeping, maintaining the purity regimen of glass for cell culture
Maintenance and monitoring performance of assigned laboratory equipment
Our requirements
Master's degree in Biology, Biotechnology or related fields
Previous hands on experience in working under sterile conditions with eukaryotic cell cultures, using molecular biology techniques is mandatory
Having previous knowledge in insect and mammalian cell culturing, fermentation preparation and performing knowledge in terms of recombinant protein production will be considered a plus
Fluent in both written and oral English
Multitasking (can overlap things to do)
Good presentation and writing skills
Demonstrates working knowledge of scientific principles and concerns
Exercises judgment in developing methods, techniques and evaluating criteria for obtaining results
