BMI Finance Manager (Brand Marketing Investments)

JOB CONTEXT

The new global finance framework in Unilever ushers a new era of disruption to drive value and pioneer a new way of working to achieve our business goals. Europe’s response is Next Generation Finance, an umbrella to several work streams, one of which is Next Generation - Finance Excellence Team (FET). The team operates under UniOps Finance & Procurement Operations organization and its main objectives are:
  • Drive operational efficiency across Europe for in-month & month-end activies
  • Lead BMI analytics to drive better return on investment
  • Land savings and re-investment programs

In the first year, the team was able to centralize all activities in Warsaw and run the operations independently. In 2020, the plan is to focus on BMI analytics, leverage global capabilities and drive operational efficiencies. The BMI Manager, is expected to lead BMI operations and analytics across all operating companies in Europe with a team of 5.

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE?

  • Lead the BMI analytics agenda across Europe.
  • Build strong ties with countries to understand their business needs and how to service them in the analytics and operational areas.
  • Work with the global ZBB (zero based budgeting) team to drive analytics and land savings program with the operating companies in Europe.
  • Improve the operational efficiency of the in-month and month end close activities
  • Leverage global capabilities across UniOps Finance and Operations to land savings & re-investment programs
  • Manage the annual and monthly BMI cycle for all operating companies across Europe
  • Work closely with Information & Analytics (I&A) team in Europe to create analytics tools
  • Work with Digital Finance team – BMI & Overheads squad to drive BMI analytics agenda across Europe and the globe
  • Be the first point of contact for escalations for operating companies
  • Effectively lead, manage, train and develop a team of 5 to ensure they are full engaged
  • Drive continuous improvement in the BMI processes

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU SHOULD HAVE

  • Experience: minimum 4-5 years of Business Partnering Finance or Brand Marketing Investments controllers role
  • Skills: Attention to detail, very good business partnership skills, driving performance, change management, fluent English is a must
  • Standards of Leadership: Bias for action, accountability & responsibility, building talent & teams
