Business Continuity Relationship Consultant

Responsibilities:

  • ensure business continuity strategies and plans are appropriate and tested across assigned Countries and/or Customer Business and Business Units in UK &I and EMEA
  • ensure Business units across UK&I and EMEA are compliant to Business Resilience Policy and there is the required business engagement and support to delivery of relevant key controls
  • identify, track and mitigate in country gaps or business continuity /resilience issues and escalate / log these risks as per the relevant risk management process
  • ensure financial control and equitable cost allocations
  • ensure commercial consideration is given to business continuity costs versus the benefit and risks being covered.
  • ensure that an appropriate and tested incident management process is in place within assigned counties Countries and/or Customer Business, with awareness maintained at all levels as required
  • provide detailed, accurate and timely reporting on the status of Business Continuity/Resilience including attendance at risk control committees.
  • support the delivery of key resilience projects across assigned counties within EMEA as required
  • establish and document (or follow and/or maintain) operating procedures which include relevant controls to meet respective requirements.
  • support and lead, where appropriate, incident management & recovery activities in response to unplanned events
  • manage and deliver recovery activities in response to unplanned events
  • support the London / Country Incident Management Teams (IMTs) providing expert direction regarding the Business Continuity solutions available to the IMTs

Requirements:

  • extensive Business Continuity, Project Management and operational process knowledge in the Financial Markets industry
  • academic degree in banking, finance or related disciplines
  • professional certification e.g. CBCI, AMBCI, CBCP would be an advantage

additional requirements:

  • excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate at the most senior level and understand the business sufficiently to mitigate resilience risk
  • knowledge of global regulatory issues relating to Business Continuity Management
  • ability to work effectively under crisis pressure and lead incident management teams at the CEO level.
  • ability to work with limited supervision, proactively build relationships with departments and other offices and communicate the importance of business continuity at the most senior level.
  • excellent planning and organising ability.
  • ability to identify and assess contingency issues in the business and recommend solutions
  • ability to travel in order to support global offices
