About the project

Reporting the Global BI Manager, the purpose of the role is to design, develop, deploy, and support our Global Business Intelligence solutions, in close collaboration with IT and business teams and partner organisations. You will play a critical role in the analysis and design of our data structures, data warehouses and associated Power BI solutions and their relationship within our systems landscape, working closely with our Global IT Team, business units to maximise business data insights to drive improved visibility and decision making.

Your responsibilities

Ability to take business requirements in a BI context, understand them and turn them into a powerful story told through meaningful insights and engaging visuals in Power BI, determining the raw data, data models, data sources, warehouse and reporting layers required to deploy the appropriate solutions.
Modelling and ingesting data from a variety of corporate data sources into a Global Data Warehouse (Azure Synapse Analytics) and performing required ETL/ELT transformations in Azure Data Factory and Power Query editor using a mixture of utilizing the UI and writing M code.
Effectively utilizing the navigation features in Power BI (e.g., bookmarks, drill-through) to guide readers through a compelling data-driven story.
Create relationships between data and develop tabular data models.
Chart creation and data documentation explaining algorithms, parameters, models, and relations.
Analyse current ETL process, redefine and make technical/strategic changes to enhance existing systems.
Create customize charts and custom calculations as per requirements.
Support the BI User community to help ensure that all deployed services are supported and maintained effectively and efficiently.
Ensure all required changes under your control are clearly documented and executed in a manner that meets our change control processes, and deployment and subsequent support arrangements are met.
Understand the global BI landscape operating across multiple regions and multiple ERP versions in existence.

Our requirements

A thorough understanding how the full suite of Power BI products work is essential including custom visuals, dynamic reporting, performance tuning, and row level security.
Experienced in leading and undertaking data modelling, calculations, effective layouts using data visualisations, developing production-ready reports, dashboards and deploying these to corporate platforms.
Extensive experience of the design, development, testing, and deployment of detailed analytics, including DAX queries and functions in Power BI and Microsoft Azure cloud platform using SQL Server, Synapse, Azure Data Factory pipelines and PowerShell scripts.
Must have sound knowledge of database management, SQL querying, data modelling, data warehousing, business intelligence.
Experience or working in globally diverse teams both in-house and outsource.
Detailed knowledge of the end-to-end business processes supported by BI solutions (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Finance, HR, Manufacturing, Field Service).
