Category Manager Electrical/Electronic Components

About this position:

The Category Manager EEC will directly support the Category Director Electrical/Electronic Components and the Category Leadership team and will be responsible for relevant business intelligence, overall strategy development and deployment as well as supplier relationship management. The Category Manager EEC will establish the right governance to ensure key initiatives are being successfully implemented in close collaboration with the Global Category Managers in charge of the commodities. He/she will provide the team with critical business and market intelligence to drive new and enhanced strategies in support of the overarching business objectives. The Category Manager EEC is in charge of developing a state of the art supplier relationship management for the category and drive adherence through the team. He/she will be providing standardized status updates and develop presentation material to articulate the future direction to key stakeholders. This will be a highly varied and fast paced role and the right candidate should possess an entrepreneurial mindset, be highly efficient and independent and able to work with limited resources.

Your role:

• Commodity Management:
• Enhance strategy content and lead commodity governance process across the EEC categories
• Develop cross-category opportunities, new levers and develop corresponding strategies
• Define and manage supplier relationship management process in close collaboration with Category Managers

Business Intelligence:

• Key interface to internal stakeholders and external sources to drive relevant data management
• Generate reports on progress to plans

Operational Efficiency:

• Build positive and responsive relationships both externally and within Aptiv functional network
• Standardize processes and communize reporting
• Articulate future direction in concise strategy presentation material

Essential requirements:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in supply chain management and/or business management
• Experience in supplier relationship management
• Ability to develop multi-talented/functional teams 
• Ability to communicate clearly with an understanding of the audience and to present ideas and gain commitments that are crucial to the success of the business
• Demonstrated ability to think innovatively and creatively to resolve problems
• Strategic thinking with the ability and experience to develop, implement and document strategies and execution plans for long term initiatives 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate and present at senior leadership levels 
• Capability to deploy international & virtual teamwork; demonstrate ability to develop and foster strong cross-functional relationships 
• Effectively integrate numerous inputs and information to provide a clear understanding of present and future requirements

Preferred requirements: 

• MBA
• Six Sigma Greenbelt trained/certified 
• Experience in fast paced technology/electronics environment
