Your responsibilities
Your role will be part of Chief Control Office (CCO) function. CCO plays an important role in enabling the bank to operate within its risk appetite, by ensuring efficient and effective risk and control management. DCOO comprises key central services for the bank i.e. Procurement, Corporate Real Estate, Physical Security, Transformation services, Business Continuity and Incident Management
You will be responsible for first line of defence activity, for DCOO in Europe (20 markets), engaging with CCO DCOO Global leads to ensure the consistent and effective implementation and performance of operational risk framework and control assurance of the first line of defence for DCOO
This job provides specialist risk and control advice, challenges and insights, promoting risk and control monitoring and decision-making.
This role will be a key member of the CCO Regional team, supporting the Regional and Global CCO and key European DCOO stakeholders
Act as trusted advisor for the senior management of DCOO Europe on how to properly manage their operational risk and all items related (e.g. risk assessments, control environment, issues management)
Manage the promotion of accountable risk and control decision-making based on quality data and commercial analysis
Manage the provision of specialist risk and control knowledge and insights leading efforts to continuously improve the control environment and monitoring of risk, including behaviours
Identify trends to anticipate future developments in the risk and control environment
Manage the development and implementation of future-fit risk management frameworks
Influence and shape the development of regulatory frameworks in collaboration with internal parties
Provide remit area Senior Management with updates on any releant changes to policy or projects related to operational risk that have an impact on their area of responsibility.
Actively challenge poor, inefficient or excessive controls, related tasks and behaviours
Promote desired behaviours and a positive risk culture across the remit area
Our requirements
The role holder will be expected to have a deep subject matter expertise and understanding of at least one of the DCOO services: Procurement, Corporate Real Estate, Physical Security, Transformation services, Business Continuity and Incident Management
Over 10 years of financial industry / consulting experience, and some international experience preferred
Additional experience across Operations, Risk Management, and / or Audit roles requiring management of diverse risk types would be an advantage
Ability to develop trusted advisor status with key Executive stakeholders through Subject Matter expertise, industry experience and track record
Ability to understand desired Business outcomes across the matrix and ability to translate in to well communicated and clearly articulated papers
Detail-oriented and able to work independently and distil complex, ambiguous information to create insights for leaders
Ability to quickly analyse a status quo and identify opportunities for continuous improvement or process re-engineering
Intellectually curious and abreast of latest trends related to areas within DCOO services and Risk Management more broadly
