Your responsibilities

  • Understand the health of the relevant Wholesale IT and wider Group Technology controls and actively participate in risk management processes including relationships with senior stakeholders across Technology, Business COO, 2nd (Risk Stewards) and 3rd (Internal Audit) Lines of Defence functions

  • Partner with the Wholesale Digital Technology teams to create effective design, analysis and remediation of control measures

  • Provide risk and controls consultancy, advice and guidance to the Wholesale Digital team

  • Prepare the IT control owners for and support the execution of Controls Assurance testing

  • Lead the application and critique of the Wholesale Technology risk and controls framework for key areas

  • Ensure the appropriate application of policies control standards and procedures

  • Advocate the desired behavioural changes across the CIO community required to mature the understanding and management of technology risk controls

  • Participate in strategic control framework work streams.

  • Active collaboration with other CCO Tech teams

Our requirements

  • 10 years’ relevant experience preferably within a IT risk management related role

  • Relevant working experience in Financial Services industry or IT / Risk Consultancy, or IT Audit

  • Expert in full set of IT General Control included under HSBC’s Non-Financial Risk (NFR) framework, i.e. Engineering/SDLC, IT Service Management, Data and Architecture, Cyber, and Cloud.

  • Experience in IT control testing and assurance, i.e IT audit, and ability to articulate control deficiencies and support control owners with control remediation efforts.

  • Interest or proven experience in Operational Resilience

  • Persistent, resilient, and resourceful; able to adapt to a complex and dynamic organisational environment

  • Open personality with effective communication skills

  • Lead and coordinate with colleagues and key stakeholders in an international team;

  • Effective use of collaboration tools such as Sharepoint, Confluence, JIRA, and OneNote.

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • Ability to present complex issues confidently and concisely to Technology and Business Senior Executives and other key stakeholders using non-technical easily understood language

Optional

  • Degree in information security, computer science or computer engineering qualifications desirable

  • Certifications CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC, COBIT or ITIL desirable
