Your responsibilities

  • Providing advice, support and challenge to stakeholders to help them understand and articulate controls and risks effectively in Helios

  • Analyzing and interpreting risk and control related information to provide insight and improvement with clear and measurable outcomes

  • Supporting efforts to continuously improve the control environment and monitoring of risk, including behaviors and conduct

  • Actively driving improvement by challenge poor, inefficient or excessive controls, related tasks and behaviors

  • Identifying trends to anticipate future developments in the risk and control environment

  • Support the development and implementation of future-fit risk management frameworks

  • Influence and shape the development of regulatory frameworks in collaboration with internal parties

  • Provide ITCS Senior Management with updates on any relevant changes to policy or projects related to operational risk that have an impact on their area of responsibility.

  • Identify trends to anticipate future developments in the risk and control environment

  • Promote desired behaviours and a positive risk culture across ITCS Domains

  • Oversee the end to end health of the control environment for ITCS domains

  • Support initiatives to drive improvements to the control environment

  • Provide SME to the effective design, analysis and remediation of control measures

  • Help provide risk and controls consultancy, advice and guidance for ITCS colleagues

  • Provide oversight and direction for Trigger event analysis (Risk, control and impact) across issues, Internal / External events

  • Ensure the appropriate application of policies in line with control standards and procedures

  • Member of relevant governance forums, Audit and regulatory reviews etc.

  • Support the embedding of risk and control management framework

  • Identifying, defining and solving problems that impact on your work or the wider business

  • Ability to deliver Insightful Risk and control Information

  • Ability to provide control expertise

  • Knowledge and understanding of the HSBC Group organization is desirable

  • Influencing, explaining and managing effective design, analysis and remediation of control measures

  • Responsible for identifying emerging risks and threats and deficiencies with deployed key controls.

  • Opine on control environment, form risk assessments, provide advice on remediation plans

  • Able to help analyze complex situations and provide support in influencing them

  • Ability to drill down to root cause and provide input to write/review clearly articulated risk documentation
