Job Description

Position summary:

Your main goal is to implement and maintain programs for effective enterprise-wide chemical management across Kimberly-Clark (K-C), in order to ensure regulatory compliance, assurance of ingredient safety, ingredient disclosure and transparency, and other sustainability initiatives throughout the life cycle of the K-C product portfolio.

What are you going to do?

  • Develop and implement procedures and programs to ensure compliance to new or changing chemical regulations.
  • Manage and keep updated database (SAP EHS) and systems for safety assessment of products, ingredient chemical safety information, chemical reports, material supplier technical data, and other product stewardship and regulatory chemical compliance information.
  • Perform reviews on new and existing chemicals in K-C ingredients, raw materials and products, and determine the applicability of various regional chemical and product ingredient regulations.
  • Monitor changing global chemical, product ingredient and hazard communication regulations relevant to K-C products. Prepare content for registration of new chemicals.
  • Assess and determine applicability of new or proposed chemical legislation changes on marketed K-C products and the innovation pipeline, communicate and support development of strategies for compliance. 
  • Be the SDS (Safety Data Sheets) database administrator, ensure safety data sheets are generated according to the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) requirements and country specific requirements.
  • Interpret chemical regulations and ensure systems such as SAP EHS are configured and capable of supporting compliance to the requirements. Develop data standards to define the collection of supply chain data needed to support regulatory compliance and customer requirements.
  • Develop tools and processes to enable data transfer from SAP EHS to reports and other digital platforms for ingredient transparency, hazard communication, chemical reporting and disclosure.
  • Work with world-wide K-C sites in data coordination activities, including data migration projects, data compilation and review to eliminate duplicate entries. Design and implement processes to ensure data quality and integrity.

We are looking for someone with:

  • University degree in a scientific or technical field (e.g. chemistry, biology)
  • Previous experience (3 years +) on similar role and with exposure to similar data, processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SAP EHS database management
  • Broaden technical background, good understanding of data integrity, database management, process flow, and the importance of regulatory compliance
  • Expert knowledge applying the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS) standard for the generation of Safety Data Sheets
  • A lot of enthusiasm and readiness to support our clients and stakeholder on daily basis
  • Willingness to learn new processes and gain expertise in product safety area
  • Fluent English, as you will have colleagues from different continents
