Your responsibilities

Working with experienced real estate and sustainability professionals to define the end-to-end technology solution for automating the measurement, monitoring, and reporting of sustainability improvements and decarbonization of commercial building projects;
Working directly with the company’s founder and senior management team in order to create a road map for “build or buy” of appropriate technology;
Performing responsibly and working with a high degree of autonomy to achieve agreed timescales and budgets;
Becoming conversant with the EU green taxonomy for green building projects and identifying key areas that must be included in the company’s technology stack in order to make it best-in-class;
Carrying out research continuously on proptech and contech start-ups to identify those that may already have solved part of the requirement;
Carrying out continued research on new developments and new technologies being applied to solve this problem;
Participation in relevant tech industry events for knowledge-building;
Leading on technical DD for identified tech start-ups that are considered to be suitable for investment;
Developing an in-house technology evaluation methodology.

Our requirements

Strong and relevant computer science / IT degree qualifications;
At least 8 years of continuous experience in the IT field with promotions from junior to senior roles. Preferable previous roles include full-stack developer, software engineer, senior solutions engineer, and chief technology officer or other similar roles preferably for B2B SaaS solutions companies;
Min. 5 years experience in leading a start-up in a CTO role, with a product or solution that made a demonstrable entry into the market;
Proven background in leading an IT team and in implementing decisions in a full-cycle IT operations environment;
High degree of technology savvy with sound knowledge of one or more of the following areas: cloud/ edge computing; machine Learning / big data, blockchain;
Very good knowledge and hands-on experience in developing tech stacks and architecture of B2B SaaS solutions;
Experience in setting and managing timescales and budgets of internal IT teams;
Fluency in English (at least B2+) and proficiency in using MS365 platform for day-to-day business communication including MSExcel, Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Sharepoint, Teams;
Excellent communication skills necessary to interact with international co-workers and partners;
Readiness to travel within the EU and the UK (up to 50% of overall time commitment);
References from previous employers.

Prior experience in working as a solutions architect for B2B Saas applications
Experience in building technology solutions for startups;
Contact network within proptech and contech ecosystem in the EU and the UK;
Experience in working for the US- or UK-based companies.

In its current growth phase, the company is focused on developing a new technology stack that can automate, manage and monitor the process of decarbonization and sustainability management in the commercial real estate sector in the UK and in Europe. This objective will be delivered by making selective investments in relevant property and construction-related technology start-ups and by investing in the development of its own software and B2B SaaS solutions.

As Chief Technology Strategy Officer, you will be responsible for defining the company’s overall technology strategy, defining the architecture of the company’s tech stack, and assisting the founder in identifying the right acquisition candidates as well as in leading on the organic development of the company’s own software solution.

This is a unique leadership opportunity, suitable for a seasoned and experienced IT specialist, to make a tangible impact by leading on strategy, development, and implementation of a new technology stack. The role involves outward communication with tech start-ups as well as the ability to build a new internal team of software solutions engineers and developers.
