I. ROLE PURPOSE:
The Child Protection Officer will be responsible for implementing the child protection programme under the supervision of the Child Protection Coordinator. The Child Protection Officer will work towards ensuring that programme implementation is carried out and that monitoring processes are in place and that timely reporting occurs.
The position requires frequent travels among project sites. The position holder will be covering multiple locations with hybrid modality from project sites, office, and working from home. The contract if for 6 months, hybrid modality – some work from the project sites, some home office.

II. KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Programme Implementation:
- Ensure quality and minimum child protection standards are implemented and respected in all activities, including child safeguarding policy.
- Supervise and manage the performance of CP partners involved in the program and working with adolescents, youth and caregivers.
- Coordinate with partners, community structures and SC staff to support program implementation.
- Support on capacity development of SC and partner staff on child protection.
- Establish and maintain periodical monitoring visits to locations where child protection activities are implemented.
- Ensure a smooth exchange between the SC child protection team, partners and people of concern.
- Support in mainstreaming child protection across different programs.
Monitoring and Evaluation:
- Participate in regular monitoring and evaluation activities of the programme.
- Produce timely reports for internal use on the activities in each location, highlighting challenges, best practices and lessons learnt.
Coordination:
- Produce timely progress reports and represent Save the Children at different forums when necessary.
- Ensure that urgent child protection needs (including violence, abuse, child marriage, family separation, trafficking, recruitment and child labour) are prevented and responded to through effective safe identification and referrals and implementation of child protection minimum standards.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
Undergraduate qualification in Social Work or Law or similar.
At least one year of experience in implementing child protection projects.
Previous experience of child protection and working with other organisations and stakeholders in a collaborative and professional manner.
Experience of working with and supporting partner organisations.
Excellent cross-cultural communication and influencing skills.
The capacity and willingness to be flexible and accommodating in challenging working circumstances.
Fluent written and spoken Polish.
Desirable
Communicative English, Ukrainian, and/or Russian desirable.
Experience implementing structured, group MHPSS activities and/or projects with adolescents.
