Your responsibilities
Managing and developing a high-performing service team, steering and developing team’s target setting and follow-up processes. Ensuring efficient team work environment and individual development.
Visiting senior management of customers to discuss the customers financial position and negotiating payment plans
Responsible for managing a portfolio of customers and minimizing overdue receivables
Contacting customers in escalated cases, determine reasons for non payment and negotiate resolutions with UPM guidelines
Re-inforce UPM’s Collection Brand and educate customers in keeping their account current
Identifying and driving continuous quality and efficiency development and improvement of collection services, process, systems and ways of working in co-operation with all relevant parties.
Close co-operation with UPM Sales network regarding changes in customer behaviour
Close co-operation with Group Credit Risk Management organization on customer behavior to help UPM make educated risk choices.
Ensuring accurate and on-time monthly reporting.
Developing and utilising finance network (internal/external).
Actively performing and following up the compliance of defined internal controls.
Ensuring seamless collaboration between teams involved in Lead to Cash process.
Participation to Lead to Cash processes and tools development projects.
Pro-active business decision support
Lead Collections and LTC processes and tools development projects.
Pro-active business decision support
Providing high quality, cost-efficient and on-time delivery of Collection Services complying with UPM business needs.
Developing a high-performing Collections service team.
Number of reports: maximum 10
Our requirements
You have a Bachelor's degree or equal qualification in finance or related area, or equal work experience
You have minimum 3 years of work experience in collections or in a similar area in a global environment. Understanding of the other related processes/areas is an advantage
You have strong analytical capabilities, especially relating to financial statements.
You have strong experience in dealing with senior management of customers dealing with escalated collections, knowing when to push and when to back off.
You have excellent leadership skills and the ability to develop skills in the Finance organization
You are fluent in English, other language skills are an asset
You have good experience and knowledge in collections processes
You have an understanding of one’s own end-to-end process chain and linkages to other processes within Lead to Cash
You have a business mindset and good understanding of UPM’s businesses and business environment
You are solution-oriented and problem solving mindset and the capability to understand and lead complexities
You are able to collaborate, influence and have team working skills with flexible and positive attitude towards changing environment. Adaptive communication and presentation skills are very important.
You have the ability and willingness to achieve own and team’s targets and timelines
