Your responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and executing standard contracts using QIAGEN’s templates (including but not limited to Service Agreements, Statements of Work, Master Agreements) and non-standard contracts.
  • Creating and reviewing contract amendments.
  • Maintaining standard contract templates and pre-approved alternative language.
  • Effectively utilizing and applying previously agreed upon contract language and fallback provisions to mitigate QIAGEN’s risk.
  • Responsible for carefully analyzing the details of contract documents to ensure that (i) terms are equitable for the company, and (ii) that management is properly instructed on terms, risks and expectations for both parties.
  • Collaborating with product specialists, sales associates, business leaders, and other functional experts.
  • Establishing and maintain cross-functional internal and client relationships to ensure and foster the highest levels of communication.
  • Coordinating actions with the organization’s stakeholders and display the ability to escalate potential issues to supported teams and management as needed.
  • Maintaining electronic files of in-process or executed contracts.
  • Administering a contract database, including data entry, and providing reports on request.
  • Performing administrative duties required to complete tasks and responsibilities within the scope of the position.
  • Supporting members of the Legal Department in various project activities.
  • Supporting compliance management in the field of personal data protection.
  • Collaborating with Procurement and Business Development teams.
  • Supporting due diligence activities in M&A processes.
  • Local implementation and monitoring of legal and compliance processes to ensure compliance with company policies and standards while ensuring risk mitigation.

Our requirements

  • Master degree in law or equivalent. Passed bar examination preferred.
  • Experience in working on a similar position - at least 1 year.
  • High proficiency in English required (both verbal and written).
  • Additional language knowledge would be a plus.
  • Knowledge/Experience with Data Protection is a plus.
  • Advanced understanding of Contract / Purchase Order terms and conditions and good knowledge of the government contracting process.
  • Experience with US contracting or as a contract specialist / lawyer in an international business setting is a plus.
  • Practical experience abroad or in a multi-national company strongly preferred.
  • Good overview over data protection is a strong plus.
  • Quick learner and highly efficient team member with proven problem solving skills in a demanding and fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to work with varying organizational levels, including Sales, Legal, Finance, Logistics, Customer Care and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with local and internationally-based project team members.
  • Ability to review and organize contract documents and balance risks against the bigger picture.
  • Adapt to evolving needs with strong analytical skills.
