Implement effective pre and post contract Commercial Management services to maintain effective budgetary control throughout the duration of the Phased Delivery Programme
Complete the competitive bid analysis for each Phase of procurement
Undertake all relevant Commercial Management duties with compliance to Northvolts’ Commercial Governance and Assurance policies and procedures
Undertake all Contract management from setting the contrct strategy for the Phased project execution, leading contract negotiation during tender process, implementing Northovlt contractual standards and ensuring the contract is adminstrered during project execution.
Undertake pre contract interface and Procurement to provide commercial input throughout the tender process leading up to, and following, contract award;
Reviewing contractor pricing and lead negotiations to drive fair contract prices.
Produce all relevant commercial data including Cost of Work Done (COWD) for the monthly reporting cycle and provide cost data in support of annual budget reviews;
Work with the Project Delivery teams in managing the cost impact validation of change to enable the Delivery teams to deliver value for money;
Provide periodic financial reports including cost forecasting, anticipated final costs, COWD, gross billing and current contract value analysis;
Manage post Contract activities through to settlement of final accounts and internal reconciliations, to facilitate project close out as per the project budgets and project plan timescales; and
Estimating and negotiating change orders throughout the construction lifecycle.
Provide estimate and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan.
Review and participate with the design services team and contractor, in the development of the cost estimates.
Reconcile changes and assist the contractors to ensure that their data is accurate.
Communicate or meet with contractors and project managers to gather status information to prepare a cost estimate update.
Prepare written comments to the contractor’s submissions, including the executive summary.
Coordinate all sources of cost information for cost discussions with suppliers directly and with contractors.
Inform and drive engineering priorities based on cost impact.
Work proactively with minimal supervision to resolve scheduling issues.
Prepare funding data presentations and coordinate VE sessions with stakeholders.
Contract adminstration (retention, T&C’s, insurance, contingency, incentives)
Maintain cost benchmarking database.
Experience in Commercial Management of projects, including implementation of effective cost and Commercial Management processes that can be shown to have delivered value for money for the client
Experience of working on infrastructure and/or construction projects from pre tender stage through to successful contract award and post contract administration
Experience of contract reporting, payment, variations, change, claims management and final account settlement
Understanding of change, risk and contingency management processes under construction Forms of Contract (preferably local Polish forms)
Experience as a clients representative managing design and EPC/EPCM contractors
Possessing clear communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience in delivering accurate forecasting, analysis and reporting
Bsc/Msc in Quantity Surveying, Engineering/Construction Management or equivalent
Solid technical experience in all cost management areas, planning, estimating, pre-contract, post contract and final account
Excellent communication & presentation skills
Proficient in MS suite

Alongside Northvolt Ett, Northvolt is also establishing a manufacturing site for battery systems in Gdansk, Poland. This facility, Northvolt Battery Systems Jeden, will industrialize and produce world leading battery systems in order to meet the increased demand for complete battery solutions on the European market. The factory is a highly automated, state-of-the-art production facility for battery modules and energy storage solutions.
