Your responsibilities

  • Supporting the Global CCO Team deliver various special projects

  • Providing risks and controls related expert inputs and developing high quality documentation for RCAs

  • Working with the Finance and non-Finance stakeholders globally to develop best-in-class materials, communicating the requirements to all regions and functions; supporting them in enhancing their documentation, risk awareness and capabilities

  • Helping improve the control environment via proactive management of risks, controls, and issues

  • Analysing data to support planning & delivery

  • Preparing meeting material for governance forums – focus on information which will drive the management of risks and improvements in controls

  • Creating training material and communications

  • Drive the delivery of effective Finance COO Risk and Control Governance.

  • Provide Quality Assurance and oversight on the governance reporting.

  • Adhoc reporting requirements (projects, one-off).

  • Tracking the status of open issues/actions and audit points.

  • Helping improve data quality & consistency (e.g. data corrections made once, centrally)

  • Support risk and control data capture in Helios (and related tools).

  • Supporting control owners, control officers and the Assurance team with issues & actions tracking and reporting.

  • Data quality monitoring including defining and agreeing remedial actions.

  • Undertaking ad hoc project management, execution and analysis work requested by line management

  • Initial point of escalation for the Finance COO function by acting in an advisory role

Our requirements

  • Three to five years of experience working in an Operational Risk, Control Office or Audit Function, preferably in Finance

  • Three to five years of experience working in Financial Services

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) and/or an undergraduate degree

  • Experience with assessments of risks and controls

  • Strong communication, business writing and presentation skills

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, effectively managing multiple and competing priorities

  • Thorough understanding of HSBC’s activities, products, processes and systems (preferable)
