This position is part of the Global Cost Accounting Team, HQ in the US and work collaboratively with OES and non-OES functions. The role is a direct report to the Cost Accounting Manager in Katowice. The individual in this role will work closely with the EMEA manufacturing sites on matters related to physical inventories, variances to standards, issue identification and implementation of the corrective actions. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record of supporting business partners, strong financial and systems acumen with focus on efficiency, and exemplary communication skills.
Qualifications, Key Competencies & Skills:
Proactively ensure the accuracy of individual plant manufacturing processes:
o Track and analyze production variances, scrap, cycle counts and material variances
o Monitor outstanding work orders and ensure they are properly accounted for
o Provide feedback to the appropriate individuals and initiate corrective actions
o Work closely with the manufacturing floor to resolve issues prior to month end
o Communicate results to the OES FP&A team
Perform month/quarter/year end activities in SAP:
o Monitor closing settlement activities in SAP, settle orders and calculate work in progress if necessary
o Calculate, process and analyze in transit and other reserves to ensure proper inventory valuation
o Inventory accounts reconciliation, review the accounts followed by corrective actions
Participate in the annual cost roll process:
o Coordinate, analyze, assist with key inputs into cost roll
o Resolve annual cost roll errors
o Analyze year over year standard cost changes and the impact on the revaluation of inventory
Conduct physical inventory audits, verify the procedures and analyze the results
Participate in SAP go-lives and data validation
o Re-cost materials as required, analyze results associated with any re-cost
o Provide support in establishing, maintaining and enforcing internal control policies and procedures
o Work on any special projects and ad-hoc analysis
Education: BBA in Finance or Accounting
Minimum of 1-3 years finance or related business experience
Strong analytical skills, systems acumen and critical thinking
Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP system
Excellent communication skills both in Polish and English
Strong personal computer skills (MS Office)
Ability for periodic short term travel to plants (2-4 times per year)
Impeccable sense of integrity and business ethics
Prior exposure to finance activities in an industrial manufacturing environment will be an asset
