About the project

The creative technologist will be responsible for partnering closely with creative direction in design system team, as well as platform engineering teams, to help connect the bridge between design and technology, and to help increase the efficiency and quality of design works and activities.

Your responsibilities

  • Help to improve the overall quality of design components in development libraries across different platforms

  • Discover new opportunities on how technology can help to improve design quality and efficiency

  • Evangelize importance of design-technology alignment to help promote design-orientated culture at HSBC alongside the design discipline

  • Be the ambassador of the HSBC design system and toolkit libraries, strong at design thinking

  • Stakeholders include, but not limited to the following:

  • Design System Team (UI and Creative Direction and UX)

  • Product Design Leadership

  • Platform Product Leadership

  • Assist the overall development and other responsibilities of the creative technology discipline

  • Assist the design system team and platform foundation team in creating and maintaining best in class experience by enabling a design-development process

  • Be the bridge between design and technology, increase communication to minimize gaps in between

  • Help to maintain design-development communication on design system topics, best practices to ensure consistency and minimize unnecessary, repetitive work

  • Regular review to identify key risks, issues and interdependencies. Determine and apply approporiate mitigation strategies

  • Ensure an equal and balanced focus is maintained on operating and regulatory risks and ensure the Virtual Management Team positively identifies and mitigates these in a manner that protects the Brand

  • Ensure regular and positive engagement with key support functions such as Risk, Compliance and HR to ensure alignment of policies and plans necessary to deliver a demanding transformation benefit target

  • Implementation of Global Standards, Financial Crime Compliance and Risk considerations in an aligned manner within the context of the RBWM strategy through operational practice and planned activity

Our requirements

  • 3+ years of front-end development experience

  • Good understanding on web technology, experience working with at least one of these web frameworks: React / Angular / Vue

  • Experience working with API

  • Experience working with Figma is a plus, especially with Figma plugin development experience

  • Develop solutions to resolve future design issues

  • Demonstrate and test prototypes and applications (mostly web based)

  • Passion and enthusiasm on both design and technology

  • Fast learner

  • Ability to embrace and experiment with new technologies and platforms

  • Share and contribute to the latest industry and design trends

  • Good at communication, being a team player to work with other team members

  • Demonstrates a collaborative approach to problem solving
