About the project
The HSBC Cloud Security Engineering team is responsible for delivery of automated security controls across all cloud platforms used by HSBC and security configuration reviews of workloads. As such the team plays key part in making ongoing security compliance sustainable, at scale. This is essential for our customers, who are enabled by us to build secure and stay secure.
The team is currently looking for an Google Cloud Security Engineer to join the team and help deliver new automated security controls for a range of GCP product offerings.
Your responsibilities
Ensure that HSBC GCP platform conforms to HSBC Cyber Security standards
Develop requirements together with customers and HSBC Security Architecture team.
Develop and deliver engineering solutions for automated and continuous security compliance checking
Our requirements
Strong experience working in a Cybersecurity engineering type position (building/deploying security solutions) – preferably in cloud environments
In-depth technical knowledge and experience of GCP security aspects/features; knowledge of other cloud platforms is beneficial
Strong Python and Node.js development skills
Experience working within DevOps culture, knowledge of common tools and processes
Customer/stakeholder focus. Ability to build strong relationships with Application teams, cross functional IT and global/local IT teams
Excellent written and spoken communication skills; an ability to communicate with impact, ensuring complex information is articulated in a meaningful way to wide and varied audiences
Built effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust and encouraging others to do the same
A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes
