About the project

An engineer led solution to act as the glue linking various HSBC systems, developed to provide a means for organizational structure discovery. Search across people, applications, and other data from a single place. Designed to be simple to use, and quick to navigate.

Your responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the technical leadership of the team:

  • This means designing the service as well as setting the technical direction for the service.

  • This is "hands-on" role where you'll be expected to cut code as well as be the technical lead.

  • You will be working with overall delivery manager and other technical leads to evolve the architecture of the new system.

  • Leading and mentoring the team that will be covering all aspects of delivering software to your users: development, automating testing and deployment of small and frequent releases

  • Production availability of your service – if you build a service, you own the service

Our requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional experience

  • SDLC experience

  • JavaScript, React

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • HTML 5, CSS

  • Git

  • English (B2+)

  • Experience of supporting a production environment with strong Service management skills and understanding

This role is within the Engineering Practice team in HSBC Technology - a relatively newly formed team which builds and supports solutions of benefit to all engineers within HSBC. This is an exciting opportunity to build best in class solutions to benefit the Practice’s internal customers – naturally therefore this role will involve a core element of liaising with lots of the internal technology customers to understand and meet their needs as well as working with the Practice team themselves.
