Setting up customs related process for newly implemented transport lanes,
Manage and control customs declarations and tax assessments from a legal and compliance perspective (audit proof)
First point of contact in case on daily customs operations for customs brokers, Ultralogistik, planning, procurement
Country specific customs requirements fulfillment
Preferential origin check, and requesting of LTSD
Self-processing of customs as a second level of approval
Daily customs operations, customs related issue solving
Manage ways of working with the 3PL, different Unilever departments and other non-Unilever parties involved in new product launches ( export process description, flow of information, split of responsibilities, golden rules etc.).
Classification of the goods and supervision on duty rates applied
Manage relations with customs brokers and Ultralogistik
+2 year experience either in customs, foreign trade
knowledge of supply chain and finance processes
fluent English (spoken and written)
team player with customer service mindset
good communication skills and cross cultural awareness
organizational awareness and planning own job
knowledge on ERP systems (SAP R3) – advantage

As a part of European Customs Team within Logistics Organization (Ultralogistik), customs operations team has been set up in Katowice. This team provides customs operations related services for Unilever Europe in 18 European countries.
The objective of the role of Customs Operations Specialist is to establish and follow customs related process with all involved parties: including planning, procurement, transport and customs brokers to ensure smooth and customs and tax compliant movement of the goods that will be required as a result of Brexit.
The role will cover as well: reporting and analyzing the reports in terms of customs duty paid and customs brokers’ remuneration and compliance with customs regulations. The customs operations specialist will supervise the processing of customs claims, manage communication process with Ultralogistik regarding customs requirements on particular transport lanes, claiming back the duty paid as a result of documentation or transport issues. Daily operational work with customs brokers in both export and importation, including planning, transport office, procurement.
