JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT


The candidate will execute import and/or export compliance tasks to support the international trading and shipping activities of our businesses in the EMEA region. You will work closely with internal business units to address risk and leverage customs opportunities, develop and implement control and compliance frameworks, contribute to government inquiries and provide operational mentorship and training. Although based in Poland, this position supports Cargill businesses across the region.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • As an advisor, support Cargill’s Global Trade Operations and Compliance team and businesses with classifications, country of origin determinations, regulated product flows, Free Trade Agreement validations and other programs required for compliant cross-border trade.
  • Support businesses as customs regulatory and legislative changes occur.
  • Conduct import and export risk assessments and partner with businesses to address gaps and manage corrective actions
  • Perform moderate-to-complex customs compliance tasks and/or actively participate on projects associated with customs compliance.
  • Support the Implementation of corporate projects by providing customs subject matter expert input, for example on trade flow and supply chain projects, using key customs attributes.
  • Work with businesses and other partners to retrieve information in response to audits and information requests from external customs authorities, verifying with more senior team members.
  • Other duties as assigned
  • You will work under general supervision and be expected to independently manage customs issues with business stakeholders. You will work in conjunction with other regional team members as well as Cargill’s other regional compliance teams to ensure consistency across the globe.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English to conduct presentations in various forums and data analytics
  • Minimum of two years of related work experience


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in law or foreign trade
  • SAP GTS knowledge
  • Understanding of customs regulations and programs
  • Minimum of three years of customs experience
