About the project
The Data & Architecture Office brings together areas critically important to the future prosperity of HSBC. The focus is on creating connections between business processes, data, products, services, and technology that underpin our interactions with customers, and financial success.
You will become a Technical Leader of Data & Reporting Developer’s Team in Data & Architecture Office, who provides highest quality services to DAO by delivering data insights and across the Bank by developing data repository and providing data assets aligned to the Bank standards.
Your responsibilities
Perform matching and linking across datasets.
Ensure secure movement of data from sources to targets
Use ETL and data tools to perform data integration across different databases / systems / platforms
Develop software / systems which acquire, aggregate and refine data
Create data warehouses and big data systems which maintain enterprise data and allow queries to be run against it
E2E delivery of assigned projects, such as developing performance KPIs, development of data models based on multiple data sources in alignment to standards and business requirements, including but not limited to data discovery, data cleaning and transformation, metrics calculation, data aggregation and data validation
Participate in data ingestion, sourcing, aggregation
Consult with stakeholders to determine data requirements and to support decision making
Manage the provision of developmental activity for team members and oversee their work schedules to ensure optimum coverage for stakeholders
Lead Data Engineering projects
Participating in people management and recruitment process for roles within team under remit, in line with HR and Technology guidelines
Accountable for career development, talent management and succession decisions for Analytics roles
Our requirements
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Data Analysis or related subject
4 years’ experience in similar role (SQL developer, data analyst/engineer or equivalent)
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced understanding of SQL programming and relational database system
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
Understanding of ETL and data warehousing principles
Experience in preparation of business reports and dashboards
Project management skills
People management skills
Fluent English language
Optional
Experience with Google Cloud Platform Products, especially Big Query and Data Studio
Python programming skills
Data visualisation and dashboard designs abilities
Understanding of Agile way of working, experience with JIRA and Confluence
Experience in Project/People management role
Proficiency in Excel
