About the project

Retail Banking and Wealth Management serves more than 50 million customers worldwide with a complete range of banking and wealth management services to enable them to manage their finances and protect and build their financial futures. It is a global business that brings together management responsibility for Retail Banking, Wealth Management, Insurance and Asset Management with a focus on customer-centric propositions and innovative and efficient distribution channels.

HSBC Marco Polo is a new strategic digital business within HSBC Group, which aims to establish a new leading player in the global retail payments and FX market, supporting foreign currency and payment needs of internationally minded customers around the world.

We're building a standalone global wallet and payments app, with a narrow proposition, but the breadth to reach 12 million customers across 32+ markets, accelerating our international ambition and extending HSBC’s global reach. We are passionate about approaching things differently and currently looking for ambitious and motivated individuals who are keen to embrace growth and tackle the impending challenges in this fast evolving industry, joining us on our journey.

Your responsibilities

  • Implementation of ML algorithms and deploy them in the production environment

  • Develop, monitor & support all steps in the end to end ML lifecycle, including prevision of infrastructure and resource management, integration, testing, releasing, deployment and monitoring

  • Produce & manage code repository, artefact, documentation, user manual and backup and Ensure & improve the performance of the ML algorithms at scale

  • Preparation and feature engineering of appropriate data; Design & develop software to automate the building, testing and deployment of ML algorithms and analytics activities

  • Develop, monitor & support the whole data analytics lifecycle from data preparation to reporting

  • Mobile development and delivery experiences is a bonus

  • Familiarity with the HSBC standards and processes would be useful

  • Able to work independently, under pressure and proactively

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills

  • Proficient in spoken and written English

  • Perform continuous training of ML models to ensure model is performing as expected

  • Collaborate with data wranglers, data scientists, data engineers, model governors and data quality and governance managers to improve the ML and data analytics pipelines

Our requirements

  • A university graduate with degree in IT, finance or a related discipline

  • Rich experience in data engineering area

  • Cross border Payments and FX knowledge will be an asset

  • Business and technical knowledge on banking system would be an advantage
