To support Data Management and Governance operations within the Swiss Universal Bank, we are seeking a skilled Data Governance Analyst to join our Wroclaw team and support us in performing data governance adoption of business critical data in our bank. Your main responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with analysts and Subject Matter Experts from Business and IT based in Zurich and Poland, to:

  • A role that exposes you to the entire front-to-back value chain within the bank, in a continuously evolving environment, impacted by regulatory and strategic initiatives, where managing data is becoming the key enabler for success.
  • Lineage - Analyze and document linage (how does the data flow through the bank, where is it sourced from, who consumes it, in what tables and interfaces it is contained, where it is transformed and how).
  • Glossary and data modelling – understand what the data means, define a common conceptual glossary and a conceptual data model for the Swiss Universal Bank (SUB) aligned to the enterprise-wide glossary work.
  • Controls - Identify and document controls related to the data, identify data quality issues and inefficiencies in data flow.
  • An opportunity to have a high impact on data governance topics, by managing data as an asset and collaborating closely with Subject Matter Experts from Business and IT located across the world who need to ensure adequate quality of the data and are the go-to persons for data consumers.
  • Deliver above in projects or works packages (Agile) including reporting to partners and participate in projects with other teams in our department that are related to data topics.
  • Support the further development of our capabilities, develop training material and guidelines, train team members, help shaping how SUB will do Data Governance and be a data governance champion.
  • Continuous opportunities to work on other CDO projects according to your personal skill and preferences in data management or analytics.

You will support SUB to achieve

  • Well-founded business decisions based on governed and controlled data.
  • Compliance with the BCBS239 regulation and other regulatory requirements.
  • Digitalization of our processes.
  • Enable business and IT to source the right data with adequate data quality for their purposes. We provide transparency of what data is available where in what quality for change projects and analytics.

You Offer:

  • 2-5 years of professional experience in data governance or business analysis in at least one of data concepts such as data modelling, glossary, data architecture, lineage or data quality.
  • Proactive, high sense of responsibility and independent working practice, showing initiative and high level of reliability.
  • An interest in analyzing business processes, data flows and defining and implementing data governance concepts interacting with IT and business SMEs.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving capabilities and interpersonal skills.
  • Ambitious, hardworking individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Interested in owning and developing topics and/or owning work packages and project streams and are willing to manage projects across teams.
