An outstanding opportunity to join us as a Data Protection and Client Confidentiality Lawyer to support the Legal Data Protection, EMEA team. You will become part of an international community in a premium Swiss Bank and you will receive insights into how a global Bank is internally governed. You will support the team by delivering high-quality services to stakeholders across the Bank in a dynamic environment. Your primary role will be to provide data protection and client confidentiality legal opinion for all the initiatives in the Bank that involve processing of client and personal data in line with applicable EMEA laws (including EU General Data Protection Regulation, "GDPR"), regulations and Credit Suisse policies. You will assess initiatives’ compliance with the general Data Protection Principles and provide practical recommendations to the internal stakeholders to help them achieve their objectives in compliance with the applicable laws. If required, you will draft privacy statements, data protection clauses, data processing consents, etc. and negotiate Data Processing Agreements, all in collaboration with our peers representing other regions. The role also involves managing ad hoc projects and strategic data protection projects (e.g. implementation of new data protection laws in the Bank) that may involve close collaboration with the Bank’s Data Protection Officer organization and GC colleagues from other departments. You will also be involved in managing, creating and maintaining our internal know-how database and templates.

Legal Data Protection, EMEA team is within the global Legal Data Protection Organization. The team in Wroclaw was established in 2013 with initially one employee providing data protection opinion for the EMEA region. The team has expanded over the years and currently consists of three permanent data protection lawyers. Although we work individually on our projects, we have regular support and brainstorming sessions during the week, having plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas, learn and grow with the team. You offer
As the Data Protection and Client Confidentiality Lawyer in the Legal Data Protection, EMEA team your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
- Degree in law.
- Knowledge of current data protection laws in EMEA countries (Knowledge of GDPR is critical).
- Minimum of 1 year of proven legal work experience (favorably in data protection laws).
- Excellent legal interpretation skills and exercise of judgment.
- Proven ability to articulate very clearly both orally and in writing. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- High ethical and control standards.
- Enthusiasm, initiative, diligence and the capacity for hard work who will follow-up on challenging issues.
- A strong drive to carry/ manage projects and matters through to successful completion with internal clients and business partners and who is a true team-player who likes to share knowledge and has a willingness to learn.
