Scope Of Main Duties

To support the Senior Lawyer and Data Protection Manager in delivery and implementation of the company’s global data protection programme and privacy regulations and in management of data protection and privacy risk within the company globally, working with all Legal & Risk teams, local Risk Partners, business areas and DPOs in each office.

To support the Senior Lawyer and Data Protection Manager with providing in-house advice and support on a day-to-day basis to the partners, the practice generally and business areas on a wide range of issues of privacy and data protection regulatory compliance and complex risk issues – all reffered to (among others):

  • Data Protection Programme of Work;
  • Data Protection Audits;
  • Data Protection polices and procedures;
  • Reporting;
  • DPIAs, LIAs, and Data Protection by Desing and Default;
  • Business liaison and point of contact, including IT requests with the data protection element;
  • Advisory duties;
  • BCR compliance;
  • Data Breach Management;
  • Contact with supervisory authorities;
  • Maintenance of payment of data protection fees;
  • Dealing with individuals rights requests.

Our Ideal Candidate Should

  • Graduate in law; Economics, Audit/Compliance/Internal Control
  • Fluent in English (French, Dutch would be an asset);
  • A minimum of 1 year data protection and privacy experience in a regulated environment with a legal, compliance or risk management background;
  • Great knowledge of data protection requirements within EU and at least awarness of it globally;
  • Good understanding of international law company’s business services structure and systems;
  • Desirable ISEB, IAPP or similar data protection qualification;
  • Evidence of business related maturity – „being commercial”;
  • Character that demonstrates good judgement, customer focus, accuracy, clear thinking and articulation, great communication skills and tact.
  • Essential is to be confident and approachable, proactive and hard-working, flexible to cope with multiple workstreams.
