Data Scientist

in Financial Strategy, an advisory unit for large corporate clients as a part of our SEB Global Business Center located in the center of Warsaw.

About the unit

The Financial Strategy is a specialist unit within Corporate Banking, Large Corporates & Financial Institutions, undertaking strategic advisory projects and materials towards our corporate clientele mainly from Nordics, German speaking countries and UK. It consists of approximately 30 professionals located across our offices in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Helsinki, London, Oslo and Warsaw.

The team covers such topics like rating advisory, debt capacity, industry themes or ESG (environmental, social and governance) and taxonomy’s impact on business.

Your responsibilities

You will be working with data that the bank has about its corporate customers and linking it with external data from external data providers via API.

You will be performing cataloging, compilation, verification and validation of the data sets, as well as making analyses, modelling and data visualizations.

Apart from that you will support the development and maintenance of digitization and automation initiatives in our unit.

It may also include such tasks like building complex financial models, maintaining them and creating automated materials from MS Excel.

Our requirements

You profile

You are a hardworking and efficient team player with willingness to expand your knowledge and develop within a broad range of data analysis topics. You should have a creative and innovative mindset, passion for learning, and a collaborative nature.

You are expected to have an interest in and to develop a good understanding of topics around working with large data sets. It would be great if you are also interested and have understanding of financial statements, financial models, corporate financing solutions and processes. Furthermore your interest in concepts around topics like sustainability would be treated as an advantage as it is a key strategic topic for us.

Your skills:

- Python (incl. PEP8 standard, docstring, unit-testing, OOP)

- Data Manipulation Libraries: Pandas/Dask/PySpark

- Visualization Tools/Libraries: Tableau, Dash, Seaborn, Matplotlib, PyTab

- Modelling Skills - Scikit-Learn, Tensorflow, PyTorch, Gym, State Space models, classical econometric models

- REST / SOAP API

- SQL

- academic degree, preferably in one of the following areas: IT, engineering, econometrics, mathematics or finance

- fluency in English

- 1 to 3 years of professional experience from relevant type of work

- MS Office professional (Power Point, Excel)

Optional

- Docker / K8S

- Cloud/cluster computing

- proficiency in German or Scandinavian languages

- experience from working in financial institutions

- advanced MS Excel (incl. VBA)

- experience in working with Factset, CapitalIQ, Bureau van Dijk or Bloomberg

- experience in Sharepoint
