Your responsibilities

  • Drive the execution of business initiatives and change activities in support of the Corporate Services strategy, which may include organizational design, technology, people / culture initiatives, and compliance and regulatory requirements

  • Provide business management support including headcount, setting monthly cadence for planning, forecasts and reporting

  • Provide operational management support for the execution of strategy and act as the liaison between the senior leadership team, multi departmental functions and key stakeholders globally

  • Leverage the wider organization, including Transformation Services, Corporate Governance, Communications and Business Intelligence & Insights to support the execution of the Corporate Services strategy

Our requirements

  • Educated to graduate degree level in a business management or associated field

  • Significant analytical and project management skills and a capacity to present analytical information in understandable reports and business plans is essential

  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent stakeholder management, relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills

  • Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in simple language to support problem analysis

Optional

  • Experience of working in management consulting is advantageous

  • Proven experience in financial budgeting, strategic planning, communication and people management processes

  • Strong understanding of the HSBC Group and its strategy, structures and processes

About the project

Corporate Services comprises a set of service pillars including Workspaces, Operations, Protective Security, Business Continuity & Incident Management, Travel and Strategy.

The Senior Business Manager reports to and will directly support the Chief of Staff in the execution of the following duties:

  • Conduct necessary analysis to formulate recommendations and determine strategic direction

  • Lead and/or support the delivery of ad hoc projects to improve quality of strategic planning, MI, and governance

  • Participate and support in business planning activities which may include financial, technological and resource planning

  • Active management and control of headcount forecasts, hiring, organizational design and location strategy

  • Providing administration services for key meetings attended or chaired by the Chief of Staff, this may include undertaking secretariat duties, managing actions and planning external events and off-sites
