Your responsibilities

  • Assist with the execution of business initiatives and change activities in support of our strategy, which may include organization design, people and culture initiatives, and compliance and regulatory requirements

  • Conduct necessary analysis to formulate recommendations to the Global Executive Committee and determine strategic direction and progress

  • Leading and/or supporting the delivery of ad hoc projects to improve the quality of strategic planning, data insights and governance

  • Participate and support in business planning activities which may include financial, technological and resource planning

  • Liaise with stakeholders across Digital Business Services (DBS) to proactively identify, investigate and resolve challenges to the delivery of DCOO goals

  • Provide administration services for key meetings attended or chaired by the Deputy Chief Operating Officer; this may include undertaking secretariat duties, managing actions and planning external events and off-sites

Our requirements

  • Educated to graduate degree level in a business management or associated field

  • Significant analytical and project management skills and a capacity to present analytical information in understandable reports and business plans is essential

  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent stakeholder management, relationship management, collaboration and influencing skills

  • Proven ability to articulate complex issues concisely and in simple language to support problem analysis


  • Experience of working in management consulting is advantageous

  • Proven experience in financial budgeting, strategic planning, communication and people management processes

  • Strong understanding of the HSBC Group and its strategy, structures and processes

About the role

The Strategy & Planning Analyst role will directly support the Departments Chief of Staff and Global Executive Committee in the execution of strategic priorities across the department, actively driving and participating in projects to support our strategic direction.

The role holder will formulate analysis and recommendations for engagement with senior stakeholders, and participate in BAU / non-BAU activities such as Annual Reporting and short term initiatives.
