Position Description

The Operational Product Manager Instrumentation acts as the liaison and interface to achieve operational success for instrumentation (medical device hardware) in a project or operational product related environment.

QIAGEN has a broad portfolio of hardware from sample preparation automation to cyclers or gene-sequencers and assoc. spare parts in a regulated market, which are produced externally at contract manufactures. Manager will be responsible for managing the team and will also:

  • coordinate and improve the life cycle management of QIAGEN`s automation portfolio with internal and external parties throughout the entire product lifecycle. 
  • support new product implementations coordinating between suppliers, marketing, SAP integration, QA and purchasing. 
  • drive product changes which need to be assessed with the planning teams in terms of stocking strategies ensuring full compliance with regulatory laws and understanding of regulatory implications to software and/or consumables.
  • take the lead in supply chain related projects, integration of new products through an acquisition, supplier changes or the decision to establish a late stage manufacturing in emerging markets including make or buy decisions or new refurbishment strategies.

Position Requirements

  • University degree in Scientific or Technical subject.
  • Experience in team management .
  • Experience of working in a scientific or technical industry with an understanding of economics.
  • Solid experience in leading supply chain/product management projects in an global environment.
  • Experience in Medical Device Industry is a strong advantage.
  • Very good knowledge of English language.
  • Experience in SAP or other ERP systems as a plus.
  • Process Optimization (i.e. Lean / Six Sigma) experience.

Personal Requirements

  • Able to work in a highly matrixed organization as well as independently.
  • Advanced communication, coordination and presentation skills.
