About the project

The Service Manager is responsible for steering and managing the Service Desk operational interfaces to Service providers and business stakeholders for service processes in scope. He/she is also in charge of the service desk service life cycle management which includes service & technology life cycle management, architecture, service level management & process improvements, demand- & capacity management, innovation, supplier & contract management, benchmarking, etc..

Your responsibilities

  • Overall ownership and accountability for services provided by the service providers​

  • Represents the service across the organization​

  • Ensure delivery of efficient and highly available IT Services​

  • Run Service Delivery Committees (on global and regional level)​

  • Manage and strengthen relationships with sponsors and key stakeholders across IT and business.​

  • Communicate escalations/decisions to Governance Board​

  • Manage relations to the partner delivery team​

  • Drive resolution of escalated service performance issues (not individual escalations)​

  • Drive Continual Service Improvement​

  • Review Service Levels Performance​

  • Review and ensure customer satisfaction ​

  • Identify opportunity for improvement​

  • Enable Innovations​

  • Identify and mitigate risks on services​

  • Ensure monitoring and approval of service-related documentation​

  • Manage and approve operational onboarding​

  • Ensure Service Readiness in case of changes​

  • Initiate requests for Contract Changes through Contract and Commercial Management teams​

  • Drive Service Adoption and Ensure consistent Service Design on SDC level​

  • Review deliverables and obligations on SDC level​

  • Review Contract Changes reg. for content (feasibility, adherence to standards, quality, service level, scope, design, budget)​

  • Initiate and Support Negotiations for Contract Changes on individual Services for existing scope​

  • Assist Product and Platform teams and Relationship managers with demand planning and monitoring consumption​

  • Review and approve Service Requests​

  • Support negotiations of claims​

  • Support monitoring of consumption of services​

  • Support Invoice review and approval​

Our requirements

  • Bachelor degree (Master’s preferred) with 10 years of relevant business experience or minimally15+ years of relevant business experience ​

  • Expert knowledge in ITIL​

  • Sound knowledge in the area of project management​

  • Strong Vendor management and effective relationship management skills​

  • Sound knowledge in SOX, GxP and contract management​

  • Sound functional knowledge of IT services such as application support and development and computer/infrastructure services​

  • Strong collaboration and partnering skills​

  • Thorough understanding of Bayer business objectives and environment​

  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and written​

  • Ability to mediate in case of conflicts
