The Global Engineering Center in Poland is located in the city of Wroclaw, in a campus owned by Collins Aerospace. The Wroclaw campus is a home to a manufacturing facility that specializes in precision machining of mechanical parts, including housings, cylinders, valves, actuators and complex geometry parts such as the Integrated Fuel Pump Control (IFPC), as well as an MRO facility supporting various Collins Aerospace aftermarket needs.
Director of Gec-Poland
Director role that manages a multi-disciplinary engineering organization of over 250 engineers. The organization is chartered to develop mechanical and electro-mechanical components for Collins Aerospace businesses.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set organization vision and goals to support broader business and organizational strategy
  • Work with a site (operations & MRO) to identify and develop joint strategy for full life cycle product development
  • Manage P&L organizational performance
  • Direct multi-disciplinary organization to design and produce mechanical and electro-mechanical components
  • Introduce new designs and technologies into Collins Wroclaw production.  Support operations and MRO team with engineering solutions
  • Coach and develop direct staff of engineering managers
  • Manage long term staffing forecast and plan to support multiple business portfolios
  • Oversee organizational talent acquisition, retention and succession planning for key roles
  • Serve as engineering focal to program management and business development leaders
  • Build and maintain customer relationships to engage on emerging issues and develop future opportunities
  • Consistently produce superior results, keeping projects on schedule and contributing to a positive work environment
  • Ensure compliance with Collins Management System, in particular approve and review grants, airworthiness documents and internal procedures

Must Have Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline; identified skills and experience
  • Full professional proficiency in English language
  • Ability to communicate technical issues, risks, and status in both written and oral forms
  • Must display strong organizational leadership competencies (e.g., mentoring, conflict resolution, program management, strategic planning).
  • Experience with risk and opportunity management, including interface with program management team and external customer
  • Experience with standard systems development practices and configuration management tools
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience leading a multi-disciplinary engineering organization
  • Excel working in a team environment, establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers
  • Minimum of 10% travel will be required
