The eCommerce Manager (Direct to Consumer) will be responsible for managing our Shopify website including merchandising, user experience, site operations, P&L, budgets, reporting performance against web analytics and operating metrics (KPIs) such as traffic growth, conversion, average order size, sales, new buyers, repeat buyers, opt-in, and effectiveness of merchandising and promotional campaigns. We are a start-up company and you will need to be hands on with the day to day eCommerce operations and oversee a small team that is expected to grow over time under your leadership.

In this role, you will collaborate and leverage existing sales, marketing, finance, operations, technology, and customer service teams to successfully execute your role. You will be developing and executing marketing strategies for our online store. This is a key role and will have a direct impact on our overall success.

eCommerce Manager (Direct to Consumer)
Work location: Anywhere. This position is 100% remote

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plan, develop and execute DTC strategies
  • Accountable for store P&L - revenue, margin, expense and return budgets
  • Manage, report, and communicate performance against KPIs weekly, monthly, and annual forecast
  • Continuously assess performance through timely qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Analyze and translate data, identify opportunities, make recommendations, and implement plans for improvement
  • Ensure site product assortment and content is rich, engaging, complete, accurate and fully optimized for both consumers and search engines
  • Collaborate with other teams to develop and execute merchandising assortment, product content, pricing & promotional calendar
  • Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams to ensure proper inventory planning, acceptable inventory turns, margin and pricing requirements
  • Knowledge of eCommerce best practices including sales management, subscription programs, product descriptions, checkout processes, etc.
  • Ensure all content is congruent with brand identity, strategic direction, and promotional activity.
  • Work cross-functionally to develop SEO strategy and continued optimization to drive traffic and new customer acquisition.
REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, eCommerce, and/or related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience and demonstrated success in a hands-on DTC eCommerce role
  • Proficiency in managing eCommerce sites, preferably using Shopify
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, including use of website analytics tools, basic financial analysis, and P&L management
  • Solid knowledge of DTC eCommerce
  • Experience overseeing 3rd party agencies
  • Advanced PC based skills including MS Office, Google Documents, Google Analytics, Website Content Management System, Order Management
  • Exceptional project management and problem-solving skills, including the ability to think creatively and prioritize multiple assignments in a dynamic environment
  • Tenacious self starter with the ability to manage a team and negotiate/manage expectations with internal and external stakeholders
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, including strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively operate both independently and as part of a team
  • A willingness to be both strategic and provide a hands-on approach is important to success in the role
  • Experience in consumables is an asset
  • Any international work experience is an asset
